G2E Asia 2024 to be held in Macau in June, Singapore event cancelled.

The 2024 edition of the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) Asia casino trade event will be held in Macau, from June 4 to 6, 2024. The event will be hosted at the Venetian Macao casino resort, run by Sands China Ltd.

There will not be a G2E Asia event in Singapore next year. The organizers, the American Gaming Association and Reed Exhibitions, said that the combined event in Macau will present new opportunities in the Asian gaming and integrated resort industries.

More than 100 exhibitors and 8,000 visitors are expected to attend G2E Asia and Asian IR Expo 2024 in Macau.

Yip Je Choong, Reed Exhibitions' senior vice president, commercial, Asia Pacific, said that G2E Asia is the region's most highly anticipated and respected event, and that they are excited to return to their home in Macau.

G2E Asia was first held in Macau in 2007 and was staged annually up to 2019. It was suspended from 2020 to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A 2022 edition was held in Singapore, dubbed "G2E Asia 2023 Special Edition: Singapore". Earlier this year, a G2E Asia-branded event was also held in Singapore, from May 30 to June 1.

Spain, Portugal and Morocco will host the 2030 World Cup

The inaugural World Cup in 1930 was held in Uruguay and won by the hosts after they defeated Argentina in the final in Montevideo.

Spain have been awarded the World Cup weeks after their disgraced former chief Luis Rubiales was forced to step down following his allegedly unsolicited kiss on the lips of player Jenni Hermoso at the Women's World Cup.

Wednesday's decision by FIFA marks the first time the World Cup will be staged across three continents and six countries, which might mean group matches will have to be held in different seasons based on the hemisphere.

"The FIFA Council unanimously agreed that the sole candidacy will be the combined bid of Morocco, Portugal, and Spain, which will host the event in 2030 and qualify automatically from the existing slot allocation subject to the completion of a successful bidding process conducted by FIFA and a decision by the FIFA Congress in 202 ," FIFA said in a statement.

"Additionally, having taken into account the historical context of the first-ever FIFA World Cup, the FIFA Council further unanimously agreed to host a unique centenary celebration ceremony in the country's capital, Montevideo... The same goes for the three World Cup matches held in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay. ”
